Several technologies have emerged with significant hype but have since faded from the public consciousness. Notable examples include 3D technology, heavily pushed following the release of "Avatar," but eventually losing consumer interest; cloning, which gained massive attention with Dolly the Sheep but seldom features in mainstream discussions despite ongoing developments; and high-potential materials like graphene, which have yet to see widespread commercial use. Additionally, innovations such as bionic contact lenses and thermal cameras for smartphones have seen limited progress and adoption since their initial introduction.
